You’re probably wondering what I’ve been up to. Well, I’ll tell you! Last Friday, Judah and I returned home from our honeymoon, stopping to visit friends and family along the way. Since then, we’ve been unpacking, cleaning, organizing, decorating, job hunting, and all sorts of things, some fun, and some not-so-fun.

One of the fun things we’ve been doing is reading The Hobbit. We’ve both read it before, but we wanted to read it again in preparation for the movie coming out in December! Who’s excited?! We are!! So, we take turns reading it to each other while the other person is doing something else. Judah has been reading to me while I work on some of the decor for our apartment (you’ll hear more about that later, perhaps in another post about my awesome thriftiness). Last night, I read to Judah while he was updating the maps on our GPS. By the way, thanks to Judah, we now have a Star Wars X-wing fighter on our GPS instead of a car.

So, anyway, decorating and making the apartment more home-y has been another fun thing. Here’s what our table looks like!

We have cupcakes left over from the wedding. Yum!

 I love the bright colors! Also, here’s what our couch looks like. I think it’s super fun.

We only have a loveseat because our apartment is too small.

It’s really wonderful to think of how many people helped us in putting together our home. For example, this loveseat was a gift from my stepmom.  Also, the beautiful quilt draped over the back was made for us by my grandma. Most of the pillows were gifts too! Without the kindness and generosity of so many people, our home would be bare and ugly, and we’re really grateful for everyone’s thoughtfulness. I thought this picture was a good example of that!

Please excuse the mess you see around the bottom of our couch.  THAT has been one of the not-so-fun things we’ve been working on. Cleaning and organizing, organizing and cleaning. I’m getting tired of it, and I haven’t even begun to tackle the closet yet.

Speaking of which, I should probably get off my computer and back to work soon.  As I’m writing this, I’m sitting on our balcony, enjoying the breeze, and thinking about how it really needs some sprucing up. Not to be envious, but the people next to us have some really nice plants on their balcony, and it looks quite nice.
