New Projects

In my last post, you got a taste of what my life has been like here. Well, things haven't changed too much. {Hopefully I will have a job (or more than one) by next week, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up.} For now, I'm still crafting. Here's my latest creation!

Here's a close-up.
Here's what it looks like hanging on the wall.
You wouldn't believe this, but the hardest part was hanging it up. I just couldn't get it to hang on the wall! So, it's a little bent out of shape from falling down so many times, but you can hardly tell.  As you can see, I hung it up over the dresser.  In fact, I've reorganized the entire dresser/craft shelves area. Remember how awfully unorganized it was before?

{I'm so ashamed...}
That's what it looked like before. I couldn't ever find anything, which was pretty irritating. Well, here's what it looks like now:

So much better!
I've made one small addition. That's right, folks! A sewing machine! Here's where I need your help.  Originally, my intentions for the sewing machine were limited to simple clothing alternations, such as hemming pants {I'm too short} and fixing things.  However, I like crafting so much, so I've decided to take up sewing for fun. Unfortunately, to put it bluntly, I'm lost. I've tried to make a few things in the past, mostly when I was younger, and with a lot of help. I really know nothing about sewing, but I think I could probably pick it up pretty quickly. Here's where you come in.  I would LOVE any tips, tutorials, suggestions, or patterns. Please feel free to give me ideas for an easy, beginner project.  You can email me, facebook me, or just write me a note below! I'd love to hear from you!
