Crafting

Putting together our home has been pretty fun. I like decorating, and I like arts-and-crafts-ing, so decorating on a tight budget is a fun challenge.  For example, here's our living room wall.

Most of the frames are from a thrift store and have been painted fun colors. I think it looks pretty neat. And it was cheap too!

A more recent task was to update my desk area, since it was looking pretty sad and boring. My dad gave me an antique chair to use at my desk. But, it was pretty beat up and needed a makeover. So, I painted it!

The wall above my desk was bare and ugly, so I also made something to hang there. I've really been wanting to make a wreath (thanks to all of my Pinterest finds). I don't know why, but I really like working in circles. I've always preferred crocheting in circles and squares rather than rows. So, I really enjoyed making this wreath. Not surprisingly, I don't have any wreath forms hanging around, so I did the best I could under the circumstances.

I wasn't sure what to put on the wreath, so I dug around through my crafting stuff. I had made these flowers the other day.

They were so fun to make {more circles!} so I made more, in my favorite color, of course! And here is the finished product.

It makes me happy every time I look at it.

I want to make another wreath soon, because it was so fun! So, here is what my updated desk area looks like. I decided to paint my desk too, so it matches the chair. I think it's so cute!
