The One About Moving
Yep. You knew it was coming. This blog was silent for far too long, and then suddenly we announced that we are moving to Pennsylvania. So it’s time for the blog post about moving.
We have lived in Rhode Island for the past two and a half years. Moving here was the start of our life together. We moved into our tiny apartment in North Providence the day we got back from our honeymoon. And let me tell you, it has been one crazy ride.
When we moved here, we didn’t have jobs here, nor did we know anyone in the area. But over the past few years, we have both found jobs and formed meaningful friendships. It hasn’t been an easy road. There have been times when I’ve cried from loneliness. I’ve wondered how we were going to buy groceries. But God has been good. Things have always worked out. There have been times when a small expense would pop up - $40 for car maintenance, for example - and we literally did not have $40 to spare. The next day, something on my Etsy store would sell for the right amount. We’ve had to work hard, on our own, but things have always worked out. I don’t regret a single moment here in Rhode Island.
But now it’s time to move on. Saying goodbye will be so hard, but we’re so excited for what’s waiting for us at the other end of our move. I can’t wait to be minutes away from friends and family. We have already been so blessed in our decision to move. Judah will be working at a company that he once had an internship for, and absolutely loved working there. And we have also been offered a place to stay until we find our own apartment.
So now comes the hustle and bustle of packing. We are moving at the end of this month (the 25th, to be exact), and our entire house needs to be packed up by then. So if you’ll excuse me, I’ll just grab my packing tape, scissors, and Sharpie and get to work.
(I promise, I really will try to be better at posting regularly. I’ll try to post again next week. Ok, you probably won’t hear from me again until I’m in PA…)
