Monday Makings: DIY Play Quilt

We have a big family, and that means lots of cousins. This fall, we’ve had a niece and a nephew born, with another one on the way. I wanted to make quilts for these little babies, but two of them live in warm climates, so I had to think of an alternative. And thus, the play quilt was born! Well, not that play quilts haven't been made before. But I decided to just make this one up myself, so I'm also working on a tutorial for you. Hopefully I'll have that done in the next few days, but it turns out that quilting tutorials are a bit trickier to write than I thought. (Edit: the tutorial is linked at the bottom of this post.) In the meantime, enjoy some pictures!

This quilt has been baby tested, and baby approved. The Velcro tabs are a definite favorite! I made two of these quilts, and unfortunately forgot to take pictures of it before shipping it out, so my sister-in-law was kind enough to send me one with her little cutie!!
