Home Preschool: Fruits and Veggies

Summer is the perfect time to learn about fruits and vegetables, especially if you have access to a garden (or in our case, a few potted plants on our deck)! We were lucky enough to have our raspberries start ripening during this unit!

Here are some of the activities we did:

Corn Cob Counting (We did much smaller numbers, as you can see below!)

Toilet Paper Tube Grapes
Handprint Strawberry (I let Pumpkin fingerpaint the seeds.)
Mosiac Corn Cob - For this craft, I cut out small squares of yellow construction paper and had Pumpkin place them onto an oval that I had already put glue on. This is great for developing fine motor skills!

Vegetable Sensory Bin - I filled a small bin with dried black beans, and let Pumpkin "plant" these Ikea vegetables, although any toy vegetables or fruit would work. She had so much fun with this!

I also printed out and laminated these vegetable and fruit cards. We sorted them by color and played matching games with them.

Here are the books we read.

Here are some the videos we watched.
If you have access to Amazon Prime, we watched Season 2, Episode 6 of Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood (Be a Vegetable Taster/Daniel Tries a New Food).
