Time Crunch
Here are some random thoughts about the last few weeks of wedding planning.
Twelve days to go before the wedding. Do you realize how soon that is? It seems Iām reminded of that every day. However, every day, thereās one less day on the countdown than the day before. Strange, no?
Anyway, there are a lot of little details left. A lot of small things keep popping up that stress me out. Some things, I feel stuck on. For example, Iām making all of the bouquets, and thereās something about mine that Iām not quite satisfied with. Oh well. Iām sure Iāll figure something out. {All of the other bouquets and boutonnieres look smashing!}
Itās interesting spending all day, almost every day with my little sister {age 5}, while trying to prepare for the wedding. With both of my parents working, Iām often looking after my siblings. How many times have I uttered the words āI need your opinion on this...ā or āCan you help me with with ____?ā just to keep them occupied and out of trouble.
And then of course thereās health and beauty. According to most wedding websites and blogs Iāve read, I should be starting a strict beauty regimen about now. Well... Iāve started shaving every day consistently. Does that count? Also, Iām a stress-eater. Stress makes me crave sweet things like you wouldnāt believe. This is becoming a problem. Hello, treadmill.
Iāve been watching a lot of movies lately. After the kids are in bed, I spend long nights working on random wedding something-or-others {centerpieces, bouquets, you name it}. Having a movie on makes my clandestine labors much more entertaining. The funny thing is that I now associate certain things that Iāve made with particular scenes from movies. For example, when I look at the bow on this bouquet, Frodo and Gandalf are in the mines of Moria; when I look at the bow on that bouquet, the Fellowship has run into the elves of Lothlorien. And of course, when I see the bridesmaids gifts, which I worked on the night before, I hear the voices of Jeeves and Wooster in my mind. {What a jolly good wheeze, old chap!}
Speaking of movies, does anyone have a copy of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers that I could borrow? Since Iām about to marry into a family of seven brothers, I feel itās only appropriate that I watch it. Also, a season or two of the Facts of Life certainly wouldnāt hinder my cause.
I hope some of this made sense.
