Field Trip: Hershey Gardens Homeschool Day

 We went to the homeschool day at Hershey Gardens to learn about geoscience! We started out by learning about the different types of rock and how they're formed: igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary. 

We also learned about the rock cycle.

We listened to a presentation from Pennsylvania Geological Survey, and learned about various fossils types of rock found in Pennsylvania from different eras of history.

We also learned about soil composition and cover crops. We even got to plant cover crops, such as clover and cowpeas, in the hoop house at the gardens.
