Poetry Teatimes

This year, we've really enjoyed poetry teatimes as a way to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy fine literature. For those unfamiliar, the concept is exactly what it sounds like: drink tea (or another beverage) and read poetry. We've dressed it up and had fancy tea parties, or enjoyed a more casual affair, like our "poetry popcorn picnics." There's no wrong way to have a poetry teatime; just eat good food and enjoy some poetry. Typically, I read all of the poems, but by the end of the year, Pumpkin was able to read a few poems on her own, and Sweet Pea was able to recite a few nursery rhymes that she had committed to memory.

We were also able to share our poetry teatimes with friends and family, including some dear friends visiting from China. They were kind enough to recite some Chinese poems and teach us a few Chinese words!
