Field Trip: Lunar New Year Festival

 We recently learned about the Lunar New Year at our co-op, so I was very excited to take the girls to a real Lunar New Year festival.

We walked around the festival and participated in a few games and cultural activities, such as learning a few Chinese words and characters.

We tried several types of cuisine. It was a cold and windy day, so we really enjoyed some hot, Vietnamese pho.

The highlight of the festival, for us, was the lion dance. We had seen videos of lion dances, and even had made our own lion puppets, but of course nothing compares to seeing the real thing!
